Year 7

Year 7 at Fairfield is a year of discovery, creativity and new challenges. Our broad and ambitious curriculum builds on primary learning, helping pupils deepen their knowledge, discover new interests and grow in confidence.

From exploring Shakespeare’s enchanted worlds and investigating the science of space to uncovering medieval history and debating democracy, pupils encounter ideas that spark curiosity. Mathematics develops confident problem-solving, while languages open doors to different cultures. Geography connects global issues with local investigations, including how we could improve Droylsden.

There is plenty of opportunity to create and perform through art, music and drama, alongside practical work in design and technology and programming in computer science. PE develops physical skills and teamwork, while religious studies, citizenship and PSHE encourage thoughtful discussion about beliefs, relationships and the choices we make.

Across every subject, we build strong foundations in reading, vocabulary and communication, helping pupils explain their thinking, ask thoughtful questions and take pride in their learning. Explore the subject plans below to discover what lies ahead.
