Take care of yourself and each other this Mental Health Awareness Week
Mental Health Awareness Week comes at an important time for many of our pupils as GCSE exams begin.
At Fairfield High School we know exam season can bring pressure stress and anxiety for young people and their families which is why we are continuing to encourage everyone to make wellbeing a priority alongside revision and preparation.
There are lots of simple practical things students can do to support their mental health during exams including:
Taking regular breaks away from revision
Getting enough sleep each night
Staying hydrated and eating regular meals
Spending time outside for fresh air and exercise
Talking to someone they trust if they are feeling worried or overwhelmed
Pupils are reminded that support is always available in school. They can speak to their Form Tutor Head of Year pastoral team safeguarding staff or any trusted adult in school if they need advice reassurance or someone to talk to during the exam period.
We also encourage families to stay connected with school and to reach out if they have concerns about their child’s wellbeing.
Mental Health Awareness Week is an important reminder that success is not only about exams and results. Looking after ourselves and supporting one another matters too.
