Expectations
At Fairfield we believe that becoming a successful learner is underpinned by first becoming a responsible citizen. We aim to create a happy, safe and inclusive school community where every pupil is supported to work hard, achieve well and benefit from an outstanding education. High expectations, positive behaviour and self-regulation are central to this environment, and we explicitly teach the habits that help pupils manage their behaviour and contribute positively to school life. Our personal development curriculum supports pupils to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
The Fairfield Way
The Fairfield Way is our shared set of routines and habits that help every pupil feel safe, prepared and ready to learn. It guides daily life at Fairfield, from arriving at school and moving calmly between lessons to making strong starts, focusing attention and ending lessons purposefully. It also establishes expectations for assemblies, the canteen and social times, helping pupils show respect and take responsibility for our school community. We explicitly teach and practise these routines so pupils understand both what is expected and why it matters. By celebrating success, learning from mistakes and treating each new day as a fresh start, The Fairfield Way supports pupils to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Promoting outstanding behaviour
We also provide clear expectations of behaviour in the classroom and within our school community, so that pupils know exactly how they are expected to behave. Our approach to behaviour management is to be positive, kind and consistent, with the desire to foster the development of mature, considerate young people, capable of accepting responsibility for their own behaviour. At Fairfield we recognise that every staff member is responsible for behaviour and will need to take ownership of issues and concerns that arise.
