Personal Development is a crucial part of our school ethos, as we aim to prepare our pupils for the world beyond Fairfield. We aim to develop our pupils’ character and support them on their journey to becoming confident, resilient and respectful young people, with strong mental, physical health and wellbeing. We deliver all of this through a wide-range of extra-curricular activities, a successful form time curriculum, pastoral support programmes, pupil leadership awards and our Fairfield Forum. We deliver a range of Curriculum Experience Days such as the Year 7 Fail Day, the Year 8 Inspirational Women Day and the Year 9 Fairfield Faith Day. Also, we offer a wide range of pupil leadership opportunities including Equality and Diversity Prefects, a Head Girl team, Sports Leaders, Prefects, EAL Ambassadors, SEND Ambassadors and Reading Mentors. Finally, our award-winning P.E. department have a long-standing reputation in Tameside for developing character and leadership through sporting participation. All of these experiences develop our pupil’s character, build resilience, offer opportunities for leadership and deliver a spiritual, moral, social and cultural education.
