Welcome To Year 9

My name is Mrs Loney and I have been Head of Year for the past 15 months although I have worked at Fairfield for the past 19 Years as a PE and Dance teacher.  I have a lot of experience within the pastoral system as I have been a Form Tutor and have successfully taken three Year groups from Year 7 through to Year 11.   

In Year 9 we will look at the transition from KS3 to KS4.  It is an important Year as Year 9 pupils get to look and choose the subjects that they would like to do at examination level.   Therefore, I am hoping to have a celebration to mark the occasion from transitioning from “Green shirts” to “Blue shirts”. 

I am so proud to be Head of Year 9. You are an amazing Year group and myself and the rest of the staff, especially the Year 9 Pastoral team, aim to make sure our pupils feel supported and encouraged, so they can reach their potential.
