Welcome To Year 7

I am Miss Diamandis, the Head of Year 7 here at Fairfield. I also teach Geography and BTEC Travel & Tourism.  

My role as Head of Year 7 is centred around making the transition from Year 6 into Year 7 as smooth as possible, whilst helping pupils settle in to life at secondary school, which can be quite a nervous time for some. Unlike the other Heads of Year at Fairfield, I stay as Head of Year 7 every year. As part of my role, I visit our feeder primary schools in the local area, meet Year 6 teachers and parents/carers to ensure we have all the relevant information needed, allowing us to be prepared to welcome our new pupils in September. I work closely alongside our SEN department, KS3 Learning Mentors and form tutors to support our Year 7 pupils. 

In Year 7 we run a number of events and school trips such as our Harry Potter evening which is run by the English Faculty, our Fairfield Friendship event at the Pearl restaurant and a day out to Chester Zoo at the end of the school year. 

Our current Year 7s are looking forward to some upcoming events, including our Children in Need fundraising event run by our Year 7s, the Paris trip and our Christmas afternoon celebration event.  

I am really proud of how our current Year 7s have settled in to life at Fairfield and I am sure they will continue to work hard, meet new friends and get involved in activities across the school.
