It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Fairfield High School for Girls. We hope that you find all the information that you need on our website; it is a special place to learn and work.
As an academically ambitious school with a knowledge-rich curriculum, we all love to learn and our success in this respect can be seen year on year in the outstanding examination results that our pupils achieve, opening doors for them to opportunities post-16 and beyond. We are known for our research-driven approach to excellent teaching, with a wide co-curricular offer, alongside exceptional pastoral care where every individual is known and cared for.
As Aristotle realised that ‘We are what we repeatedly do’ and that ’Excellence is a habit, not an act’. We very much believe this to be the case at Fairfield and we expect both pupils and staff to pursue excellence in all that they do. We really do go the extra mile in pursuit of continuous improvement; we are never complacent.
Of equal importance to academic study is our commitment to personal development. Being a global citizen in the 21st century requires a set of values, skills and attributes that allow our pupils to guide their lives with confidence. As a member of the International Girls’ schools Association, we work within a global network, helping us to deliver a world-class approach to developing character and resilience.
Pupils, their families, and our staff describe the school as the ‘Fairfield family, where there is real warmth, inclusivity, a safe and happy place to learn, work and grow.
It is a real privilege and a personal pleasure as a female head to lead the pupils and staff of Fairfield. I want our girls to be happy in their learning, challenge themselves, have enquiring minds and have the opportunity to learn how to be highly numerate, and to express themselves eloquently and with decency.
Whilst our website gives a flavour of our school, there is no substitute for a visit, and I look forward to welcoming you to this vibrant, compassionate, forward-thinking community of learners. There really is nowhere quite like it.
