Pupils make international change
We are so proud of Orlaith, Nuran and Flo, our Year 10 pupils who have entered an international competition called #PlayForNature. The challenge looks at how sport can inspire action for biodiversity, from protecting species and restoring habitats to creating a healthier future for both people and the planet.
They worked incredibly hard on their entry, writing, filming and editing the video themselves. They chose to focus on the impact sports shoes have on the environment and explored simple ways we can all reduce that impact.
As they explain: “Disposing of your shoes sustainably, especially in sport, is essential for keeping our planet healthy. Too many shoes going into landfill cause harm to animals as well as people, leading to a lower quality of life, especially in poorer areas. So maybe think about how you dispose of your shoes next time you buy a new pair.”
